Board Chair
Cecil Morotolo is an executive management professional with 12 years of experience in operations management, business process management and strategy development. A member of the Institute of Directors in South Africa, he holds a BSc in Water Resource Management and was appointed Chief Operating Officer at KnM in 2024, bringing governance and strategic expertise to The Gift of Education.
Board Member
Sharmaine Aphane is a South African educator with a Bachelor of Education in Senior Phase and Further Education and Training. She specialises in Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and Hospitality Studies, and is passionate about creating meaningful educational opportunities for learners. As a Board Member, she champions Mathematics education and the confidence it builds in young people.
Project Manager
Rachel Mahlaba is a dedicated educator and community development advocate with 34 years of experience in education. She holds a BCom from UNISA and an Advanced Certificate in Education, with expertise in lesson planning, learner assessment and moderation, classroom management and educational technology. She brings organisational skills and a commitment to expanding educational opportunities to The Gift of Education.
